Santa’s Hidden Secret… What Christmas Is Really About

Is Santa really a setup for spiritual and ritual poisoning? Hopefully by the end of this post you will feel more enlightened than upset… Someone out there will email me death threats for even mentioning Santa in this way lol but this is a revelation came to me one day many years ago and was one of the most popular posts on my last blog so I’m copying it here with today’s insight as I’ve grown spiritually. So let’s get to it!

First, let’s start with the most obvious thing… santa is just an anagram for satan, just switch the letters. I know, I know I’m stretching, right… you really have to move that “n” pretty far to the end to change the name.  But it gets more interesting…

Next, I’d like to break down the definition of a clause (claus).  A clause is a contract – a binder, or stipulation.  In the Christmas holiday, we tell our kids that if they believe in santa and are good kids, then they will be given toys. Basically, if they do “this”, then they will get “that”… a contract or clause.  Little do we know, we are setting them up for spiritual failure!

Now let’s put this together… Santa Claus becomes Satan’s Clause or the devil’s contract! Let me explain further…

Christmas morning, one of two things are going to happen:

1: A child that has been naughty all year will still get gifts.  I mean, what parent can really justify not getting gifts because their kid was bad earlier that year?  This gets imprinted in their heads that there is no lasting consequence for their actions.

2: A child that has been good all year gets disappointed when they don’t get exactly what they asked santa for.  This gets imprinted in their minds that there are no real rewards for adhering to faith. A spiritual failure either way!  How can a kid then turn and believe in God and His Word?

Another thing to think about… only God is omnipresent (all-places), omniscient (all-knowing), and omnipotent (all-powerful).  So then, why do we give these same divine-powers to a jolly guy in a red suit created in the marketing department of Coca-Cola?  Santa can travel all over the world in one night (omnipresent), knows what every kid wants (omniscient) and he is capable of granting them their wishes (omnipotent).

As a next thought… remember in the bible how the devil tried to tempt Jesus by offering him a clause: all the kingdoms of the world if Jesus would worship him instead? (Matthew 4:1-11)  Jesus, of course angered satan by rejecting his offer, but have you been offered a clause by the devil too? It isn’t a game to think that satan doesn’t exist.  People sell their soul to the devil for riches, fame and power everyday.  Plenty of clauses have been signed in blood and unfortunately the signers don’t fully understand the magnitude of their ignorance most of the time.

The sad part is, you don’t have to sign a clause to be in agreement with satan, all you have to do is have faith in him over God for him to trap you.  How many Christmas movies have a plot where the children have to whole-heatedly believe in santa for some kind of magic to happen, like in Polar Express where the adults can’t hear the bell because they don’t believe.  Once they believe in santa, I believe they are set up for spiritual doom. That’s all satan wants, to lie be a wolf in sheep’s clothing, hidden yet in plan sight… to sneak in kill, steal and destroy God’s people without them even knowing they are following satan out from under God’s flock.

Santa has all of the wishes of all the kids in the world…  praying to him for toys and fancy things.  What really upsets me is that some children are also asking santa to do serious things like put their parents back together, to save their dying uncle in the hospital, or to protect their dad who is stationed over seas.  These are all things that should be sent up in prayers to our Heavenly Father, not for satan’s clause.

On the topic about the actual Christmas Holiday, I know there is a lot of talk about Christ not being born in the winter, but that only plays into another game the devil is playing. Many people who go down that road end up not celebrating Christ’s birth at all because they cant subscribe to the right day he was born. I choose not to get into all that.

I love the feeling of togetherness and it’s a great time (and for some, one of the only times) to be be involved with a church community, to see loved ones we haven’t seen in years and to take a break from punching the clock and taking exams. But we should make Christmas more about Christ and not about santa. ‘Tis the season for giving but don’t give in to being a pawn in the devils’ game, mindlessly following along, doing things lukewarm. The Savior of our world, the Light in our darkness the Prince of Peace, the Lord of Lords is who we are celebrating. He gave so much, even his life, for us yet rarely received. The least you can do is make it about His and not your wishes… after all it’s his birthday, not yours and all he wants is to see you in Heaven.  Have a great Holiday and Merry Christmas!
